The Princeton Review has named Emerson College as the most "LGBT-Friendly" school in the country, according to a ranking published this week.
The other local colleges on the list were Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering at No. 7, Smith College at No. 8, and Wellesley College ranked 11th.
The Princeton Review publishes 62 annual college rankings lists, which are based on a survey of 126,000 students at 378 schools in the United States.
The "LGBT-friendly" list is compiled from students' answers to the survey question: "Do students, faculty, and administrators at your college treat all persons equally regardless of their sexual orientations and gender identity/expression?"
The Review also published the most colleges and universities, with Grove City College in Penn. topping the list.
