With a win over the Yankees Sunday night, the Red Sox improved to 35-23 on the season, good for first-place in the AL East. The Sox are 12 games over .500 for the third time this season, and they've relegated the rival Yanks to third place in the division.
You were right to expect some kind of improvement compared to the Bobby Valentine disaster of last year, but not even the most optimistic Sox fan could have expected this start. Can they keep it up? Here's what we've learned through roughly the first 1/3 of the season.
