ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — After going 14 innings and using seven relievers on Monday, the Red Sox stayed up late working on their pitching staff. Here is what's known so far:

Alfredo Aceves was the scheduled starter for Triple A Pawtucket on Monday night when their game at Syracuse was rained out. But Steven Wright and Terry Doyle are listed as the starters for today's doubleheader.

Nothing official from the Red Sox, but Aceves could be their starter on Wednesday in place of Franklin Morales, who went two unexpected innings on Monday.

Righthander Jose De La Torre is headed to Florida and will be on the roster for tonight's game according to team sources. Clayton Mortensen could be placed on the disabled list according to CSNNE's Sean McMcAdam.

One possibility: De La Torre is on the roster Tuesday and optioned Wednesday to make room for Aceves.

Regardless of what happens, the Red Sox need John Lester to go deep into the game tonight.
