Week 4: 10 games to watch



Here are our Week 4 games to watch as league play kicks off across the state and some Thanksgiving Day rivals play the first of two scheduled games this season.


Friday


No. 15 Plymouth South (2-0) at Plymouth North (2-1), 4 p.m. – Dylan Oxsen and Plymouth South head across town to take on rival Plymouth North.


No. 1 Xaverian (2-0) at No. 20 Barnstable (1-1), 6 p.m. – Fresh off its beatdown of previous No. 1 Bridgewater-Raynham last Saturday, Xaverian tries to serve as the first top-seeded team to win this season.


Concord-Carlisle (2-0) at Bedford (2-0), 6:30 p.m. – A pair of unbeatens and Dual County Small rivals square off with possible playoff implications at stake.


No. 18 North Attleborough (2-0) at No. 6 Mansfield (2-0), 7 p.m. – Hockomock League play kicks off this weekend with a clash of 2-0 Kelley-Rex squads. The six-team Kelley-Rex section of the Hockomock has five 2-0 teams.


No. 10 Central Catholic (2-1) at No. 19 Andover (1-1), 7 p.m. – Central Catholic tries to get back on track after its 40-21 loss at home to St. John’s Prep.


No. 13 King Philip (2-0) at Taunton (2-0), 7 p.m. – Taunton has put up a lot of points so far this season, but the King Philip defense will serve as a far greater challenge.


Arlington (2-0) at No. 4 Reading (1-0), 7 p.m. – Reading barely got by Dracut last week and now they face an Arlington team with a pair of blowout victories on its résumé.


Saturday


New Bedford (1-1) at No. 7 Bridgewater-Raynham (2-1), 1 p.m. – Bridgewater-Raynham was roughed up last week in a lopsided loss at Xaverian and will try to get back on track against New Bedford this week.


No. 5 Everett (1-1) at No. 3 St. John’s Prep (2-1), 1:30 p.m. -- St. John’s Prep gets another Top 5 team this week in Everett. The Prep is coming off back-to-back double digit victories after its season-opening loss to Bridgewater-Raynham. The Crimson Tide were on a bye last week after their 20-8 loss to Xaverian.


Pope John Paul II (3-0) at Cathedral (3-0), 8 p.m. – Pope John Paul II is off to a fabulous start and scoring points at will, but Cathedral has been rolling over teams.
