A Melrose man and a Lexington man were arrested near City Hall Plaza in Boston on charges that they distributed the drug crystal meth.
Undercover officers allegedly arranged to purchase one-eighth of an ounce of crystal meth for an undisclosed amount of money Sunday from Jake Decker of Melrose and Andrew Dreyer of Lexington.
Decker, 26, and Dreyer, 30, agreed to meet the officers around 450 Washington St. outside of the MacyĆ¢™s department store in Downtown Crossing to complete the purchase. Once the suspects arrived, the officers walked with them towards the Boston Calling Music Festival at City Hall Plaza, police said.
Once the officers thanked the suspects for the drugs and the transaction was complete, the officers identified themselves and arrested the suspects.
Officers allegedly recovered multiple bags of crystal meth, a drug ledger, four cellphones, two glass bongs and other assorted narcotics, among other evidence, from both suspects.
Decker and Dreyer will be arraigned today in Boston Municipal District Court.
