Yes, yes, we're all in a tizzy over the Phillip Lim for Target collection due in stores next weekend. And we've been waiting with bated breath for Isabel Marant for H&M due out later this fall. We're even counting down the days until Preen's teeny (albiet very stellar) collab with Aldo Rise drops.
However, lately, we've been feeling pretty psyched for the upcoming DesigNation collection Catherine Malandrino designed for Kohl's. Malandrino follows the footsteps of Derek Lam and Narciso Rodriguez, who created summer and fall capsules, respectively, for the big box retailer. The Parisian-themed line, due to arrive in all Kohl's stores on Sept. 27, features a range of flirty frocks, vegan leather outerwear, and sexy and novelty knits tapping out at $130.
According to the release we received today, Medford's own Maria Menounos (left) was spotted rocking a ponte knit mini dress (priced at $64) from the collection, while fashion-friendly names, Olivia Palermo and Louise Roe, were seen wearing looks of their own -- all of which looked promising.
Previous collections (Lam and Rodriguez) found their strengths in the figure-flattering thick knit dresses both designers produced and fell a bit flat in the poly-blend chiffon/faux silk pieces that weren't the easiest to wear, even if the ethnic-inspired patterns were usually very tempting. Stiff, tailored cotton pieces could be your friend if your figure allowed and bathing suits were a good buy in Lam's Rio-influenced swim line.
We've played with a few pieces from the Malandrino collection and can confirm our favorites lie with kicky knit skirts and a few very impressive evening options, including the below jumpsuit. Every girl can use a good jumpsuit.
The collection arrives in stores and Kohls.com Sept. 27. Check out the full lookbook here.
