A Roxbury man has been arrested on murder charges in connection with the stabbing death of a 22-year-old Milton man in April, according to the Norfolk district attorney’s office.
After a two-day search, Nathaniel Brown, 30, was arrested by State, Boston, and Milton police near his home on Geneva Avenue just before 9 p.m. Thursday. He is accused of fatally stabbing Jordan Baskin on April 14 at Baskin’s home on Hudson Street in Milton.
Investigators said Baskin’s father was home the night of the attack and heard a loud crash downstairs. Following the noise, Baskin’s father discovered his son suffering from several stab wounds, which he died from, Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said in a statement released by his office.
“This has been a grave ordeal for this family, and we are pleased for them that the Norfolk County Grand Jury has issued these indictments and this case can now move to the Norfolk Superior Court for prosecution,†added Morrissey.
Brown is expected to be arraigned Friday in Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham.
Baskin died after being stabbed outside, close to his home, and one of his neighbors heard his father’s screams after he found his son.
Liliana Bonilla, 42, Baskin’s neighbor, told the Globe in April that she was pulling into her driveway across the street at around 10 p.m. when she heard Baskin’s father yelling from the back porch for Baskin to come inside.
“The yelling was so frantic, you could tell something horrible happened,†she said.
Kevin Jarrett, a nearby resident who knew Baskin since elementary school, said at the time that he was “an upbeat kid, you know, always smiling, always making jokes.â€
“Real friendly guy, he could spark up a conversation with anybody at any moment. Obviously, I would never expect something like this to happen to him of all people.’’
