Police in Moultonborough, N.H., are investigating an alleged hazing incident involving members of the Chelmsford High School football team when players attended a summer camp in the town last month, police said today.
The incident took place around Aug. 23 at an undisclosed camp, Moultonborough police said in a statement. Police would not disclose any details of the alleged hazing, but did say they are being assisted by Chelmsford police in their inquiry.
“As all involved parties in this investigation are juveniles, no further details will be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation,’’ Moultonborough police said in the statement.
The Lowell Sun reported today that New Hampshire detectives have already visited Massachusetts and that the town’s school department has already taken undisclosed steps to deal with the incident inside the school system.
No further details were immediately available.
