What’s in the news?

- Two Boston brothers have pleaded not guilty to charges they made a bogus $2 million claim to the marathon bombing victims' fund for a long-dead aunt. Branden Mattier and Domunique Grice were charged earlier in the summer after Mattier allegedly took a fake check from an undercover state trooper.

- Gambling opponents have gone to court trying to revive their proposed state ballot question seeking to repeal a state law allowing up to three casinos along with a slots parlor. The move comes days after Attorney General Martha Coakley disqualified the question.

- Some people who lost limbs in April's marathon bombings will meet today with wounded military veterans and will go to the Patriots' home opener. The get together is part of a nonprofit's work to raise money for both groups. One military amputee says it is another way to show that the human spirit cannot be broken.
