ESPN's Adam Schefter has reported via Twitter the Patriots have released quarterback Tim Tebow.
Tebow was vying for a spot as the team's third-string quarterback. He appeared in three of the Patriots' four preseason games and completed 11 of 30 passes for 145 yards and ran 16 times for 91 yards.
