The Patriots have announced the signing of four players:
DL Travis Chappelear - is listed at 6-5, 263; he played at Northwest Missouri St. and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Bengals on Apr. 29 but released just a couple of weeks later;
WR Jonathan Haggerty - is listed at 6-1, 195; he played at Southwest Oklahoma St. and entered the league as an undrafted rookie with the Browns in 2010. He has been out of football since being cut from the Bears' practice squad near the end of the 2011 season;
WR Lavasier Tuinei - is listed at 6-4, 200 pounds; he played at Oregon and spent most of last year on the Seahawks' practice squad. He split the 2013 offseason between the Bengals and Cowboys;
DL Scott Vallone - is listed at 6-3, 275; he played at Rutgers and is now the ninth Scarlet Knight on the Patriots' roster. This is his first opportunity with an NFL team after being undrafted earlier this year.
New England already had three open roster spots due to moves earlier this week; to create a fourth, rookie DB Stephon Morris (Penn St.) was released.
