Culinary creativity rarely takes a day off at Dunkinâ™ Donuts, where chefs at its R&D skunk-works are always intent on devising new innovations in hand-held cuisine.
A case in point: In a Monday press release, the Canton-based coffee-and-baked goods chain says itâ™s unveiling the Pretzel Roll Roast Beef Sandwich --- and this only two months after the much talked-about debut of the donut sandwich, a combo of pepper-fried egg and cherrywood-smoked bacon that uses a sliced glazed donut as its delivery platform.
And now we have the Pretzel Roll Roast Beef Sandwich as a possible lunch option for those who have breakfasted upon the donut sandwich.
Herewith an excerpt from the Monday release on the Pretzel Roll Roast Beef Sandwich.
âœThe sandwich features a warm pretzel roll with delicious roast beef, white cheddar cheese, and creamy Dijon sauce. Dunkinâ™ Donutsâ™ new crisp and tasty pretzel roll can also be enjoyed as part of any Dunkinâ™ Donuts Bakery Sandwich, including Ham & Cheese, Turkey, Cheddar & Bacon, Chicken Salad, and Tuna Salad. Dunkinâ™ Donuts also recently introduced two Chicken Sandwiches, Barbecue Chicken and Bacon Ranch Chicken. The Dunkinâ™ Donuts pretzel roll and Pretzel Roll Roast Beef Sandwich are available for a limited time at participating Dunkinâ™ Donuts restaurants nationwide.â
The pretzel roll sandwich line, meanwhile, can be accompanied by some new additions to Dunkinâ™s beverage menu.
The chain said it is bringing out a full line of caramel coffees, including the new Caramel Coconut Iced Coffee and Caramel Turtle.
In theory, this could lead to flavor-burst overload, someone washing down a Pretzel Roll Roast Beef Sandwich with a Caramel Turtle. But we suspect many locals will be more than up to the challenge.
