The website TMZ has published a letter it claims was written by former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez in response to a letter he received in jail.
"I know everything happens for a reason and I know 'God' has a plan for me and something good will come out of this," the hand-written letter reads. "The world just makes things out of false accusations and it will all die down, especially when they say not guilty and all the people that turned on me will feel like crap."
According to TMZ, the letter was provided by a man named Karl who says he was in the same jail 15 years ago and wanted to provide some encouragement.
"I'm humbled by this already and this will change me forever. At least I'll know my true supporters. Thanks for being one of them!" the letter also reads.
Hernandez is being held at the Bristol County House of Correction while he awaits trial on a murder charge in connection with the death of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.
