This young raccoon found itself in a head-scratching predicament in Waltham on Monday.
Waltham public safety workers on Monday freed a young raccoon whose head became stuck in a storm drain grate.
The raccoon was found at the corner of Chestnut and Lowell streets, and was reported to authorities by a passer-by.
Waltham police, firefighters, and animal control officers freed the raccoon from the grate. The ring-eyed mischief-maker is staying at Kindness Animal Hospital to recover before she is released back into Waltham's wild.
Waltham police tweeted this morning that the young raccoon is "doing well today."
