Some students just luck out when it comes to housing. While many locals have to compete in the bloody sport of trying to find a place for a Sept. 1 move, college kids have almost-guaranteed places to live in at excellent locations with spectacular views.

It’s all relative. Some colleges have prime real estate that is lusted after not for views or modernity, but for single rooms or private bathrooms.

This gallery, listed by increasing order of rent, is based on some combination of price and newest construction. Average off-campus rent prices nearby are also included for comparison to see if students are getting a deal or are being overcharged.
