"Saturday Night Live" head writer Seth Meyers popped the question to his longtime love, lawyer Alexi Ashe, his rep confirmed to US Weekly. According to the celeb publication, the late-night funny man, who grew up in Manchester, N.H., met Ashe at a wedding several years back and sources said, "He's known that she's The One for awhile, but it was all about timing." The 39-year-old "Weekend Update" anchor formally proposed on Friday, Access Hollywood confirmed.
Meyers wrapped his final full season of "Saturday Night Live" in mid-May and will take over Jimmy Fallon's "Late Night" time slot on NBC when Fallon replaces Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show."
We're betting the Meyers-Ashe wedding will have a pretty epic guest list, but we're not sure it will be able to rival Bill Hader's last "SNL" hoorah, when Stefon and Seth found themselves in their own walk down the aisle.
But it may come close.
