There is a season for everything, and there are pros and cons for every season. Now, ‘tis the season to battle under the blazing sun to decide which season is the most dominant in the sixth annual Water Gun Fight.

The fight, hosted by Banditos Misteriosos, will take place on Saturday, July 20 at the Cambridge Common. Each of the four seasons are designated a color so participants can easily advertise their allegiance: yellow for summer, red for autumn, blue for winter, and green for spring.

Bandito T, a member of the group, said the banditos choose a theme every year that enables participants to dress up and show their loyalty. This year, participants will dress up as summer, autumn, winter, and spring in the seasonal standoff of the summer.

With the recent heat, Bandito T said everyone needs an excuse to get outside and cool down. She said the event is turning out to be scheduled for a perfect time, and that everyone should take advantage of the opportunity to do some water damage.

“It’s been so absurdly hot this week, and I think that a really wonderful way to combat that is to come to a park and dump water on each other until you’re absolutely soaked,” Bandito T said. Now would be the perfect opportunity to break out the yellow scuba suit, bright red scarves, blue fuzzy earmuffs, and lime green rain boots: Participants are encouraged to get creative and crazy when dressing in their favorite season’s designated color.

Bandito T also suggested bringing a couple liters of backup water ammunition for any water weapons that will be making an appearance on Saturday afternoon. Otherwise, Bandito T said to bring yourself, your friends, and get ready to battle.

“It’s too hot to be in your house right now, so find a water gun, fill it with water and then come and have some fun with it,” Bandito T said.

The event is free and open to the community. The fight will take place at 1 p.m. at the Cambridge Common on Saturday afternoon. For updates and weather announcements, visit Bandito Misteriosos’ website.
