Pierce Brosnan's 41-year-old daughter, Charlotte Emily, died in London June 28 after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer. The "James Bond" actor released a touching statement to PEOPLE, saying Charlotte passed away while surrounded by family and friends and "fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity."
The 60-year-old actor added: "Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon."
Charlotte's mother, former "Bond" girl Cassandra Harris, passed away in 1991 after her own struggle with ovarian cancer. Harris and Brosnan wed in 1980 and the actor adopted her two children, Charlotte and Christopher, following their father's death in 1986. The couple welcomed son Sean in 1983. Charlotte leaves behind husband Alex and children, Isabella and Lucas.
