The body of a man who fell off a harbor cruise boat in Boston Harbor this weekend was recovered this afternoon, the Suffolk County district attorneyâ™s office said.
âœBoston police spotted an unknown body on sonar, brought it to the surface, and saw it was the remains of an adult male,â said district attorneyâ™s spokesman Jake Wark. The body was recovered at about 1:15 p.m. between Spectacle Island and Castle Island.
Wark said an autopsy would determine the cause and manner of death of the 41-year-old Wilmington man.
He said the manâ™s name was not being released today because his death did not immediately appear suspicious.
State Police detectives assigned to the district attorneyâ™s office are investigating.
The man fell off the railing of a harbor cruise boat Saturday night while apparently engaging in horseplay, according to the company that operates the boat. The search for the man was called off late Sunday afternoon after more than 17 hours.
