A high pressure system will deliver less humid weather today, as temperatures remain seasonable in the mid-80s. Skies will be mostly clear, with sun shining statewide, according to the National Weather Service.
“Today and tomorrow should be spectacular days,†said weather service meteorologist Charlie Foley. “Late Thursday afternoon and evening we begin to see an increasing chance of precipitation and clouds.â€
The stickiness that afflicted much of the state yesterday will subside for a while, with dewpoints in the low to mid-50s expected to begin today and last into the weekend. Tonight, skies will remain clear and temperatures will drop into the 50s.
Wednesday’s weather won’t change much. Slightly warmer air and higher dewpoints are expected statewide, though temperatures are expected to only tick up a degree or so from today’s high of 85. A pleasant sea breeze is likely to develop along the coast, according to the weather service.
Thursday will begin sunny and enjoyable, with a high near 81. Showers could develop after 5 p.m., with thunderstorms likely after 9 p.m. The chance of precipitation in Boston is 30 percent, according to the weather service.
Conditions will remain unsettled Friday, with showers and thunderstorms possible. Some regions will stay dry Friday, though clouds will blanket much of the Commonwealth. Temperatures will remain in the low 80s, Foley said.
The weekend will be mostly sunny and dry. Temperatures will remain in the 80s and dewpoints won’t become oppressive, according to the weather service. An isolated shower and thunderstorm can’t be ruled out, but mostly pleasant conditions will cover the state on Saturday and Sunday.
