WBZ AccuWeather Midday Forecast For June 10
Hope you brought that umbrella today.
Clouds working their way east will bring rain to the Boston area by 3 p.m., National Weather Service meteorologist Bill Simpson said. The rain could be heavy at times, potentially affecting the evening commute. Temperatures should reach the mid-70s.
Thanks to the wet end of last week and the rainy start to this workweek, the Weather Service has issued a flood watch for all of Massachusetts except the Cape and Islands.
Overnight some locations could see more than an inch of rain in an hour as well as embedded thunderstorms, though severe weather shouldnâ™t be an issue, forecasters said.
The brunt of the heavy rain will hit overnight and spotty showers will linger throughout the day Tuesday, Simpson said. It will be a cool and damp day as the mercury wonâ™t top 65 degrees in Boston. By Tuesday evening, some places could see 2.5 inches of rain, with more possible locally.
Once this system moves out of the region Wednesday, with only a chance of showers and thunderstorms remaining, conditions should improve as temperatures reach 80 degrees in Boston.
Weâ™ll be able to see clearly once the rain is gone Thursday and Friday, as skies clear and temperatures reach the low 70s.
