No guarantees
NBCsports.com has reported that Tebow’s deal with the Patriots is for two years with no guaranteed money. The deal means the Patriots control Tebow’s rights for 2014 if he has a strong 2013 meaning they could trade him as they once did with backup QB Matt Cassel. No dollars were released on the contract, but the NFL minimum for a fourth-year player is $510,000 with a fifth-year player getting $595,000.

Big seller
In late November 2012, with the Jets season basically over and Tebow not playing much, ESPN.com reported that sales of Tebow’s jersey had fallen. At the time, Tebow’s shirt had fallen to number eight on the list of most popular jersey released by the NFL. Tom Brady was number five on the list at that time.

Patriots jersey
With the ink barely dry on Tebow’s contract, the official Patriots Pro Shop is taking pre-orders for Tebow jerseys. Game jerseys in white and blue are listed at $99.95 and something called a “ladies” game jersey is offered only in blue and costs $94.95.
