Summer 2013 brings the usual mix of action ("Man of Steel," left) and laughs (Johnny Depp as Tonto in "The Lone Ranger," center). But this year there are touches of darkness. Our superheroes face problems usually plaguing mere mortals, like the "Dark Knight"-esque Superman in "Man of Steel." And even those who usually make us laugh don't do much smiling, like Will Smith in the futuristic "After Earth."
