Food Truck Festivals of New England held its most recent event Saturday in Kendall Square, Cambridge. Thousands of food lovers enjoyed the warm afternoon and offerings from more than 20 on-site food trucks.

In addition to the food trucks, the event also offered music and area vendors.

Compliments Food Truck of Brookline found its slider, which featured three grass-fed beef mini-burgers on parmesan-griddled baguettes with white cheddar cheese, to be a top seller.

The brightly colored Fugu Truck, which opened in early April, said it serves authentic Asian street foods.

Fugu served steamed buns with double-braised pork belly and a fermented bean sauce. Truck owner Bing Liu said the item is Fugu’s top-seller. “The buns are really fluffy, the belly melts in your mouth, and the sauce is umami,” Liu said.

The A4 truck, an offshoot of Cambridge’s Area Four restaurant, hit the streets in April. A4 serves flatbread sandwiches. Operator Dick Dawson said the truck takes piadina, an Italian flatbread, “warms it up, fills it with delicious local things, and serves it.” The muffuletta (pictured) was made with ham, salami, pepperoni, mortadella, provolone, and an olive spread.
