A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with two attempted sexual assaults on women in the Mission Hill neighborhood early Saturday morning, police said.
Patrick Barry was arrested overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned in Roxbury Municipal Court today.
The first incident occurred around 2 a.m. when a man jumped out of the bushes near Vancouver Street and Huntington Avenue, grabbed a woman and attempted to assault her.
Police said the man stabbed the woman in the leg with a knife before she escaped.
Then less than an hour later, a woman walking on Huntington Avenue near Parker Hill Street was grabbed from behind by a man armed with a knife. He knocked the woman to the ground and stabbed her in the hand before she was able to escape, police said.
Both incidents are being classified as attempted sexual assaults, authorities said.
