Dorchester man allegedly robbed four fast food restaurants at gunpoint; bail set at $150,000

A Dorchester man accused of robbing four fast food restaurants at gunpoint during a span of just 12 days was ordered held on $150,000 cash bail after his arraignment today in Dorchester Municipal Court, according to Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office.

Boston police arrested Richard Calderon-Colon on Saturday after fingerprints at the scenes allegedly linked him to the May 13 robbery of a McDonald’s in Dorchester, the May 18 robbery of a Dunkin’ Donuts in Dorchester, the May 21 robbery of a McDonald’s in Roxbury, and the May 25 robbery of a Dunkin’ Donuts in Mattapan.

Calderon-Colon was arraigned on the Dorchester and Mattapan robberies today. No arraignment date has been set for the Roxbury robbery.

Calderon-Colon told police that he robbed the restaurants using a BB gun. He stole a total of at least $1,200, although the exact amount has not been tallied, said Jake Wark, a spokesman for Conley’s office.

Dorchester Municipal Court Judge James Coffey rejected prosecutors’ request for $500,000 cash bail, but set it at $150,000 cash and also ordered Calderon-Colon’s bail revoked on drug possession charges filed against him in February, prosecutors said.

Calderon-Colon is scheduled to return to Dorchester Municipal Court July 10.
