One dead,one hospitalized in head-on crash



One person is dead and another remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a head-on collision Saturday night on Interstate 95 in North Attleborough, according to State Police.


A car traveling in a northbound lane of the interstate crossed over the median near Exit 5 and struck a car traveling southbound around 8 p.m., State Police said in a statement. Troopers are investigating what caused the driver to cross into oncoming traffic.


The driver of the car that crossed the median was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro with life threatening injuries. The driver traveling southbound was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the statement.


State Police did not release the names of the two drivers or any further information on the crash.
