Mass. residents on Forbes list of the 400 richest Americans


Forbes has published its annual rankings of the richest people in America, and for the 20th year in a row, Bill Gates has been named the richest person in the US. The founder of Microsoft Corp. has a net worth of $72 billion, Forbes said. Other people topping the list are investor Warren Buffet, with a fortune of $58.5 billion, and Larry Ellison, co-founder and chief executive officer of Oracle Corp., a computer technology company. Forbes lists Ellison’s net worth as $41 billion. The list also includes a number of Massachusetts residents and, one who is considered to be a fixture in Boston.
