Cardinal Sean P. Oâ™Malley has issued a letter to priests across the Archdiocese of Boston inviting them to add their voices to the Roman Catholic Churchâ™s call for comprehensive immigration reform that would include a pathway to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants.
Oâ™Malley said in the letter that Catholic bishops across the country would speak on the issue over the weekend, as the US House of Representatives prepares to debate an immigration reform bill.
The Archbishop of Boston also voiced his personal support, writing that âœlegal status without a path to citizenship leaves unprotected millions of people who have lived in the shadows for far too long.â
