Former FBI agent Thomas Daley left the courtroom. He was the handler for Richard Castucci, a 47-year-old Revere nightclub owner who had been working as an informant and tipped off the FBI to the existence of a Winter Hill Gang safe house in New York City. Once Bulger learned, Castucci was lured to a Somerville apartment and shot by confessed hitman John Martorano on Dec. 30, 1976.
