Attendees at the Outside the Box Festival cooled off from the warm summer weather by taking a dip in Boston's Frog Pond. The event will continue through Sunday, July 21.

Are you in need of some fun this week? Well, we're going to try to help you out. Here are our picks of some things to do around the Hub, whether you're looking to cool down or sip on a cool beverage after work. If you're in the market for warm weather fun, be sure to check out our mobile summer guide.

WEDNESDAY: BEER AT BUKOWSKI
Though this bar is already known for its spectacular selection of craft brews and the spinning beer wheel, here's another reason to check it out: on Wednesday at 7 p.m., the tavern will feature beers from New York's Sixpoint brewery. Meet their reps, talk about beer, and of course, indulge in some suds.

WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY: FREE ICE CREAM
Enjoy three days of free ice cream, courtesy of Boston-based Hood. The cold treat will be available July 17-19, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at City Hall Plaza.

THURSDAY: LANTERN FESTIVAL
Jamaica Plain's 15th annual festival will be held at the Forest Hills Cemetery from 6-9 p.m. The event is inspired by the Japanese Bon Festival, and will result in a brightly lit J.P.

THURSDAY-SUNDAY: FOOD FEST at OUTSIDE THE BOX FESTIVAL

By now, we're sure you know all about this free nine-day festival in Boston. On Thursday-Sunday, skip the live music and head to City Hall Plaza for delicious eats by some of Boston's most popular chefs. For those seeking adult beverages, there will be a beer pavilion on site.

ONGOING: STAY COOL

As the heat wave hits Boston, we figure you're trying to find ways to stay cool. Hit up Earl of Sandwich in Boston Common for their Frozen Lemonade Heat Wave Special. For $1, this beverage may be the key to braving the heat.
