Animal Rescue League of Boston
In honor of National Dog Day (Aug. 26), the Animal Rescue League of Boston is sharing photos and information about seven shelter dogs with us. National Dog Day recognizes dogs that need rescuing and gives thanks to the dogs who serve the public and bring comfort to families each day.
Dogs like these will be up for adoption at the Animal Rescue League of Boston’s “Take Me Home Today Adoptathon” at all three of its shelter locations in Boston, Dedham, and Brewster on Saturday, Aug. 31.
The Animal Rescue League of Boston is one of 49 shelters across the country competing in the ASPCA Rachael Ray Challenge, where the grand prize is $100,000. The goal is to have the greatest increase in saved lives over a three-month period. The mission of the Animal Rescue League of Boston? Finding homes for 1,200 animals in 12 weeks. This means they need to find homes for about 500 more animals by Saturday, the final day of the challenge.
